Testimonials — Giving human meaning to the journey
Pedagogical objective
This section is often the one that gives the greatest meaning to the journey. After understanding the organs, compatibility, and the legal framework, pupils discover real stories of people who have donated or received organs. Each testimony is linked to an organ collected during the adventure: the journey moves from the game to real life, and pupils understand that behind an organ there is a family, a life story, and sometimes lives saved.
Activity flow
Pupils arrive on a screen that invites them to click on the organs. Each click opens a testimony, in text form and sometimes accompanied by a video. This “one testimony per organ” principle creates a direct link between what was collected in the game and what it represents in concrete terms.
Teacher’s role
This is a good moment to slow the pace. You can read a testimony aloud, allow time for pupils to react, then ask what stood out to them. It is useful to remind them that these are real stories and to link them back to everything seen earlier. If a pupil reacts strongly or mentions a personal situation, acknowledge what they say calmly, without asking for details, then refocus the group on what the testimony helps them understand. This step can be emotional, but it remains accessible if handled simply and respectfully.
